North Dakota Lewis & Clark Bicentennial advisory committee: two terms
North Dakota Historic Preservation Review Board: two terms
Mandan Language and Oral Traditions Preservation Project-Since 1997, I have co-directed, along with Dr. Joseph Jastrembzski, Associate Professor of History at Minot State University, an initiative to preserve the Mandan language and oral tradition with the help of Edwin Benson, the last speaker of the language today. We are in the last stages of translating stories told by Edwin into a written linguistic narrative. Edwin has been digitally videotaped in his regalia in an earthlodge setting while he is telling these stories.
Lewis & Clark Rediscovery Project- I was a historical consultant providing historical documentation for 65 webpages on Three Tribes history and culture now published at trailtribes.com.
National Park Service Corps of Discovery II "Tent of Many Voices" audio tour- I provided Hidatsa language and song recordings and voice-over narration for this nationally touring exhibit on the bicentennial.
Lewi and Clark: The National Bicentennial Exhibition, Missouri Historical Society, St. Louis, MO- I served on the Tribal Advisory Committee and on the "What Lewis and Clark Missed" panel during the grand opening in January 2004. I was recognized with a certificate for contributing to a curriculum developed in conjunction with the exhibit. I also wrote an essay entitled "Mandan and Hidatsa  Perspectives on Lewis and Clark: Past and Present" published by the Missouri Historical Society in their Gateway Heritage quarterly magazine.
Turtle Island Storytellers Network: North Dakota- I am featured in an online profile at turtleislandstorytellers.net entitled "Three Tribes In My Blood".
Denver Art Museum, Denver, CO- I provided a contemporary interpretation of George Catlin's "The Cutting Scene: Mandan Okeepa, 1832" for museum staff in preparation for the grand opening of their new museum in October 2006.
Knife River Indian Villages National Historic Site, Stanton, ND- I am currently working on an inventory study of plants now growing in the park surrounding our Mandan and Hidatsa ancestral villages with Dr. Maria Nieves Zedeno, Asst. Research Professor, Bureau of Applied Research in Anthropology, University of Arizona, Tucson.
Denver Art Museum, Denver, CO- I presented my personal journey in preserving Mandan lifeways for the Douglas Society in March 2007.
