Indian people have a long tradition of service to this country. This is my maternal grandfather and his grandsons.
Vietnam Era Veteran: February 5, 1974 - December 5, 1979 I received basic training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, CA before being transferred to the Communications-Electronics School, Marine Corps Base, 29 Palms, CA for technical training. I received instruction in basic electronics, fundamentals of digital logic and telephone and switchboard repair. My military occupational skill (MOS) was 2811- Telephone and Switchboard Repairman. My first duty station was Electronics Maintenance Company, 1st Force Service Support Group (FSSG), Camp Pendleton, CA. While stationed here, I attained the rank of Corporal (Cpl). In my third year of service, I volunteered to extend my enlistment for 22 months to attend a computer switching system repair course at the US Army Signal School, Ft. Gordon, GA; it was here that I attained the rank of sergeant. I was then transferred to Electronics Maintenance Company, 2nd FSSG, Camp Lejeune, NC, where I finished my 5 year-10 month enlistment. While at Camp Lejeune, I also gained experience as a military police traffic clerk, issuing permanent and temporary vehicle stickers at the front gate. As a native American able to gain valuable technical skills and experience in the challenging field of electronics, I am proud of my service to this country.
In addition to achieving the rank of Sergeant, I received Good Conduct and National Defense medals as well as a second award for Rifle Expert.
